Document certification, built like software — by the solicitor who uses it.

What it does

• Certifies true copies properly. The certification text is rendered into the page's own content — so it prints, scans and forwards intact, instead of relying on annotations a viewer might quietly drop.
• NSW templates, correct wording. A library of certification templates for the common documents, carrying the proper capacity — an Australian legal practitioner within the meaning of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW).
• Handles a whole batch. Each document in a bundle keeps its own details and template, and the document type is deduced from the template, so there's less to retype.
• Reads the document for you. On-device text recognition reads a scan and suggests its details to fill in — entirely on the Mac, nothing uploaded.
• Guides Verification of Identity. A guided VOI flow for conveyancing follows the ARNECC document categories and produces a dated record of what was sighted.
• Keeps a private record. An encrypted, local audit trail of what was certified, and when.

How it's built

Local-first and offline by design. Certified copies are made to stand up years later: the certification is part of the document itself, dates are deterministic, and every certification leaves a record. No accounts, no tracking, no cloud.

I built Serkify because nothing quite like it existed — and it's a narrow enough need that it was never really going to be worth building commercially. So I made the one I wanted for my own practice.

On the way

• Apple Intelligence, on-device. As Apple's on-device models get better, I'm bringing them in — to read and understand a document, suggest the right template, and draft the details, privately, on the Mac. Actively working on it.
• Matter-based output. Organise certified copies by client matter, and bundle a matter into a single PDF.
• Continuity Camera. Snap a document with iPhone, straight into Serkify, and certify it.
• Verifiable copies. A way to confirm, later, that a certified copy is intact and genuinely mine.
• Shortcuts & Quick Actions. Certify a PDF from anywhere on the Mac.
